Summary

Rep. Farrar's bill requires all girls in the 6th grade to be immunized against the human papilloma virus (HPV). The virus is often undetected, but some forms of the virus can lead to cervical cancer.

Before the availability of the HPV vaccine, the prevalence of the virus was used as an argument for abstinence-only sex education.
